I decided this morning that I would start this. I am not a writer and never thought about writing for even a hobby. I am a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler with 6 kids. My oldest is 8 my youngest is 9 months. My husband and I are Messianic Christians. We believe that God sent his son to take on the sins and transgressions of the world so that we wouldn't have to bare the punishment of our sin ourselves. That son (Jesus or Yeshua-his Hebrew name) was crucified died and was buried and rose on the 3rd day. My favorite passtime is cooking and working with our many animals. I do the rest because we have to have clean clothes and clean dishes. I wanted to give you the brief over veiw of our belief and who I am before getting started.
I thought, of all the crazy reality shows out there, my life could be on one too. I am no Michelle Dugger. I am not that sweet or patient or organized. However, we do have a pretty interesting life.
Around here today, we are getting ready for Hanukkah. Yes, we celebrate Hanukkah. We don't do Christmas anymore. I am sure some are confused after reading my first paragraph that I say this. More on this later. I didn't start this to argue religion, I wanted to give you an idea of how our life works.
Anyway, I am going to do some decorating and crafts with the kids today. I think the laundry needs dealt with and hopefully I can get to some baking too. The chickens are still laying well so I think I will do something with the eggs today. Maybe some anglefood cake, bread and some cookies. Daddy got called to work this morning so we are slow getting started. He has to be out of town part of this week so we are starting Hanukkah on Thursday night. The kids are SO excited. We did all of our shopping online this year and the packages are starting to pile up. I stayed up late 2 nights wrapping so far and I am still not done. BTW, I wrap in brown craft paper because it is SUPER cheap and can be decorated anyway you want.
Well the cows, horses and kids need fed. I better go whip something up. We had leftover oatmeal the other day so I think I will fry that up and heat up the left over bread pudding. Daddy just called and he is done at work. The local grocery store has flour and butter on sale so he is picking me up a bunch along with the makings for tamales. He is also gonna stop at napa for some battery acid. We have a few deer hides to tan and we are gonna try the battery acid method. More on that later too!
